1. Which data does egenta process?

egenta acts as webshop and reseller on marketplaces and platforms and is using various data which mostly is provided by yourself when you use our service or contact us, typically when you register on our webshop and provide your contact details, or simply when you purchase a product from us. Data can also be automatically collected via our webshop such as how and when you are navigating through the website.

2. What does egenta use my data for?

egenta processes all data in accordance with all applicable data protection laws. We generally only process your data for the purposes explained in this Privacy Notice or where, if applicable, separately noted with your approval.

These cases are mainly purchase processing and the personalization, development and security of our services. The usage of your data follows the principles of the European data protection law and is also applied for other purposes such as scientific research (e.g. as in the context of artificial intelligence), business process optimization and product development for example.

We continuously strive to improve the personalized experience that customers have with egenta’s services while remaining within the legal European framework of privacy laws. This is made possible by processing your data and gives you the benefit of, for example, an individual shopping experience tailored to your interests. This may also include individual product recommendations from us based on data about previous purchases and/or interests.

Additionally we use the data collected to understand how our shop is used in order to make our services more user friendly for you.

3. Who does egenta forward my data to?

egenta only forwards your data if this is allowed by European law. We work in Europe particularly closely with transport carriers (e.g. shipping companies such as DPD, DHL, Hermes, GLS, Correos, Colissimo and more), in the area of customer service (e.g. hotline service integrators) and IT providers (e.g. computer centres).

These partners may generally only process your data on our behalf under special conditions in a given timeframe necessary to provide the relevant service. For example, a postal company would need your phone number and/or email address in order to coordinate another delivery time with you when the package cannot be delivered in the first attempt.

4. When will my data be deleted?

We will store your personal data as long as is necessary for the purposes named in this Privacy Notice, especially for the fulfilment of our contractual and legal obligations. We may also store your personal data for other purposes if or as long as the law allows us to store it for particular purposes, including for the defence against legal claims.
